Practice Description:  
For more than two decades as a trial lawyer, Mr. Dolan has earned a reputation for successfully representing the victims of personal injury and wrongful death in state and federal courts. He is known for taking on the most complex, high-profile cases, including civil rights, personal injury, professional malpractice, wrongful death, whistleblower/qui tam, and defective product cases.

He has been the principal attorney and owner of Dolan Law, P.C. since 1996. Earlier, he was a litigator for a nationally known law firm. For six years, he was a prosecutor for the Cook County State's Attorney's office in Chicago. In all, he has personally tried more than 50 cases to verdict in federal and state courts and more than 130 arbitration and bench trials.

His success has earned him recognition from Chicago Lawyer Magazine's Forty Illinois Attorneys Under 40 To Watch, Illinois Super Lawyers®, and Leading Lawyers, as well as the highest ranking from his peers in the Martindale-Hubbell American Law Directory.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree of St. Mary's University of Minnesota and his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the trial bar in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and all Illinois state courts.

Mr. Dolan contributes to the legal and local communities as a volunteer by publishing articles and giving presentations on legal issues, serving on professional boards and committees, and coaching youth baseball.

Notable Cases and Results:  
    Mr. Dolan's notable cases have touched on a number of important civil rights and employment isses. For example:
    • Blount vs. Stroud, in which a plaintiff successfully sued for damages after her employer fired her because she testified on behalf of a fellow employee in a race and sex discrimination suit.
    • USA v Sanchez and Del Valle, a landmark federal trial prosecuting city sanitation managers for patronage, in which Mr. Dolan was able to secure his clients, Sanchez and Del Valle, a re-trial after it was exposed that prosecutors had failed to disclose necessary information to the defense.
    • Rauen vs US Tobacco, a widely reported and controversial case in which a cancer survivor sued for the right to retain a home office in order to accomodate physical disabilities brought on by her disease.
