Mr. Sido has practiced nearly 35 years in litigation and as transactional counsel for design/construction professionals, condominium directors and officers, real estate professionals, lawyers and school officials. He is a prolific writer and speaker in these fields. His practice has also included insurance coverage analysis and policy drafting as well as broad aspects of a civil trial practice. Mr. Sido applies his extensive trial experience to the counseling and transactional needs of his clients. He is now a certified mediator and former arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and construction arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.

Employment History:
Mr. Sido joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in May 1975. Following 12 years of service on the firm's Executive Committee, Mr. Sido currently heads a litigation section in the Chicago office. Mr. Sido holds affiliate memberships with the American Institute of Architects-Illinois Council, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois. He has been a member of the Illinois Association of Condominium, Townhouse & Homeowners Association. Additional professional memberships include the American Bar Association (including its Forum on the Construction Industry), the Illinois State Bar Association, as well as the Appellate Lawyers Association, the Society of Trial Lawyers, the International Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.
Community Involvement:
Mr. Sido has had extensive community involvement, including service as a little league baseball manager and an Indian Guides Chief.
Published Legal Writing:
Mr. Sido regularly writes for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, including authorship of chapters with revisions and supplements on pleading, contribution and indemnity, and condominium litigation. He has also written chapters for a number of books on civil practice and construction law, including:

King, 23 ABA Tort & Insurance Law Journal, 711-743 (1988) and "Litigation Involving Students With Handicaps", with P.R. King, Trial, Volume 25, No. 8, August 1989. He has also written articles concerning real estate broker liability and litigation.
Mr. Sido has frequently made presentations and lectures on litigation practice and construction law. He has been a lecturer and participant in professional meetings under the auspices of the American Institute of Architects, National Society of Professional Engineers and American Consulting Engineers Council, as well as the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
